About Shangri-La Jeddah
Shangri-La Jeddah, anchored on the new Jeddah Waterfront along the shores of the Red Sea, sets a new standard for luxury hospitality in the city. The hotel features 203 stylish rooms and suites, 17 luxury serviced apartments, and four distinct restaurants and lounges, including the renowned Shang Palace. It is conveniently located near Jeddah’s popular landmarks and the Red Sea Mall, also encompassing 116 privately owned Burj Assila Residences.
The Role: Sous Chef Garde Manger
The Sous Chef Garde Manger is a full-time position responsible for upholding high standards in all Commissary, Cold, and Butcher preparation, service, and hygiene within the Production Kitchen. This role holds full accountability for all cold production activities within its area of competency, ensuring adherence to management standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen operations during all meal periods.
- Engage actively in outlets during operating hours to gather feedback from colleagues and guests.
- Embody and promote the Guiding Principles and Core Values of Shangri-La Hospitality.
- Implement strategies to reduce waste of supplies and materials through re-use or selling.
- Participate in scheduled training sessions.
- Conduct and attend regular briefings.
- Coordinate with outlet managers regarding daily events.
- Communicate regularly with staff through one-on-one counseling.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in international luxury hospitality.
- Demonstrated ability as a natural mentor and team builder.
- Possession of creativity, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for guest engagement.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Work Location
This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
