About the Tamayyaz Program and Role

Accor is seeking a Reservation Agent to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is part of the Tamayyaz program, a Nationalization Development Program designed to equip Saudi talents with essential skills and knowledge for various hospitality professions. The program combines classroom learning with On-Job Training over a specific timeframe, targeting candidates with 0-1 years of experience. This role is exclusively open to Saudi nationals.

The primary objective of the Reservation Agent is to maximize hotel revenue and guest satisfaction by efficiently receiving, handling, and processing guest reservations. The role operates under the direction of the Space Controller, ensuring all activities align with the hotel’s guidelines, business plan, corporate guidelines, and service concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests over the phone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Accurately record reservation information, including identifying and recording group and transient business codes.
• Inform other departments of VIP arrivals.
• Identify commissionable reservations and secure required information.
• Record and process deposit information.
• Identify and record special billing instructions, approving credit after consultation with the Space Controller.
• File all reservations in a systematic order for easy referral.
• Contribute to maximum hotel occupancy by assisting in maintaining accurate room inventory control.
• Assist with the preparation of the four-day forecast and VIP list.
• Achieve maximum occupancy and average rate by utilizing yield management techniques.
• Employ up-selling techniques to enhance guest experience and revenue.
• Handle all special requests appropriately and pre-block special requests or VIP accommodations accurately.
• Keep the Space Controller informed of new group bookings.
• Utilize guest history files to provide personalized service.
• Maximize customer satisfaction and hotel revenue by promoting hotel restaurants and other services and facilities.
• Deal with assigned incoming correspondence, faxes, and reservation messages in a timely and accurate manner, and acknowledge them.

Operational Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all applicable laws, corporate standards, and guidelines.
• Maintain high confidentiality regarding guest privacy.
• Report all potential and real hazards appropriately and immediately.
• Fully understand the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure the security and safety of guests and employees.
• Work in a safe manner that prevents harm or injury to self or others.
• Support a safe hotel environment by applying hotel regulations and adhering to existing laws.
• Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions, notifying the Space Controller as required.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct.

General Duties and Professional Development

• Attend all meetings and training sessions as required by the Space Controller.
• Assist colleagues with similar or related tasks, subject to Space Controller approval.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by courteously and efficiently attending to requests and inquiries.
• Accept a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-kept working area and materials, reporting any defective materials or equipment to the Space Controller.
• Continuously seek to improve knowledge of own job function, including:
  • Hotel facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (*, hospitals, stations, tourist sights).
  • Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures.
  • Accepted methods of payment by the hotel Reservationist.
  • The hotel’s credit policy.
