About the Role

Samaco Motors is seeking a dedicated Technician / Mechanic to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time role involves the accurate and skillful repair and servicing of all cars, with a focus on luxury vehicles. The successful candidate will support the Workshop Controller in the running of the Luxury Car facility, detect and diagnose faults, and establish required work. This position requires direct customer interaction to ensure complete satisfaction, ensuring all work is completed safely and complies with Retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines, and meeting all deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and skillfully undertake the repair and servicing of all cars, including routine service and advanced diagnostic repair work as directed.
  • Analyze work orders carefully to understand vehicle conditions, diagnosis accuracy, and agreed-upon work.
  • Maintain the highest standards of workmanship in line with the latest technical guidance and evolving technical practice.
  • Document completed work orders, ensuring accurate recording of hours and materials used, and proper handling of warranty materials.
  • Minimize wastage of all materials, oils, and fluids during operations.
  • Support the Workshop Controller/Team Leader in the running of the Luxury Car facility, assisting with scheduling and prioritizing work.
  • Assume a leading position within the Workshop, advising the Luxury Car Team on work priorities and supervising job completion to ensure high standards.
  • Act as a guide and mentor to junior technicians, providing technical advice and assisting the Workshop Controller with the induction of new staff.
  • Proactively suggest improvements for working practices.
  • Undertake all other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the Workshop Controller.

Diagnostic and Technical Operations

  • Detect and diagnose faults, establishing the required work for vehicles.
  • Test vehicles and provide diagnostic reports to the Workshop Controller and service reception.
  • Observe, recognize, and report on vehicle and component serviceability.

Customer Engagement and Communication

  • Conduct pre-service booking discussions with customers to resolve issues, using customer-facing skills to understand and interpret faults for accurate diagnosis.
  • Communicate clearly and unambiguously with customer-facing Luxury Car staff and customers regarding fault diagnosis and required work.
  • Liaise with all other areas of business affected by potential work requirements, such as Parts and Bodyshop.
  • Deal directly with customers in a customer-facing role, fulfilling all tasks to their complete satisfaction.
  • Meet customers at new vehicle handover, setting up the vehicle and demonstrating technical features as required.
  • Receive customers courteously, in line with the Retailer Manufacturer quality program.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

  • Safeguard and protect the customer’s vehicle and its contents during repair or service, ensuring adequate seat protection is used.
  • Ensure vehicles comply with Retailer/Manufacturer and industry safety standards when returned to the customer, with any faults reported and noted on the job card.
  • Adhere to all health and safety, environmental, and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures.
  • Check the condition and ensure the correct maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials in accordance with company policy.
  • Follow safe working practices and be proactive in suggesting possible improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time Technician / Mechanic position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostic procedures, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship are essential. The role requires a professional approach to customer service and strict adherence to industry and company standards.
