About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Assistant Manager, Security, to join the team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves assisting in the daily management of the security department to ensure the protection of property assets, employees, guests, and the property itself. The Assistant Manager will contribute to maintaining operational standards and promoting satisfaction among guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting hazard and risk assessments, including quarterly OSHA/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and the hazard abatement process.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain logs, certifications, and documents as required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Supervise and review initial incident investigations, ensuring timely responses to all reported incidents.
• Follow proper key control guidelines for loss prevention and across the property.
• Assist with the promotion and implementation of accident and fire prevention procedures.
• Conduct inspection tours of recording systems during patrols of all interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Follow up on unusual activities that could affect the well-being of guests and employees.
• Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts.
• Promote action plans to monitor and control risk.
• Oversee loss prevention operations, including patrol processes, emergency response, investigations, shipping and receiving processes, electronic key systems, and manager-on-duty responsibilities.
• Assist with the first aid program for guests and employees.
• Support the claims process and protect company assets by monitoring General Liability and Worker's Compensation cases.
• Collaborate with Meeting Planners to facilitate successful and safe experiences for guests.

Human Resources Activities

• Participate in interviewing, selecting, and training employees.
• Appraise employee productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other status changes.
• Ensure the safety and security of employees and the property.
• Monitor employee attendance and record absences or tardiness.
• Support direct supervisors in achieving their development goals.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Customer Service and Professionalism

• Meet quality standards and customer expectations daily.
• Identify educational needs, develop formal training programs, and instruct others.
• Inspect and critique the performance of the loss prevention department to maintain high levels of professionalism and customer service.
• Provide services that exceed expectations for customer satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in security or loss prevention roles. The ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems effectively is essential. The role requires developing liaison relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.

Communication and Reporting

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for informing and updating executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner. This includes providing information to supervisors and co-workers via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
