Mechanical Technician

About the Role

ENGIE Saudi Arabia is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position requiring 2-5 years of experience. The role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of mechanical equipment within the plant, working closely with the Mechanical Engineer and operations personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all Work Orders generated in the Computerized Maintenance Management system as directed by the Mechanical Engineer.
• Generate necessary reports, including log sheets and check sheets, for maintenance activities.
• Ensure that all mechanical equipment maintenance adheres to OEM Manuals.
• Review Mechanical Maintenance Procedures and propose improvements.
• Support reliable and accessible 24-hour call-out functionality.
• Work to reduce equipment downtime and ensure high Plant availability.
• Perform troubleshooting activities with the Mechanical Engineer and colleagues to identify and rectify defects.
• Record and report all rectification jobs undertaken to the Head Mechanical Engineer.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations Personnel to resolve mechanical equipment issues under the guidance of the Mechanical Engineer.
• Discuss planned and unplanned jobs with the Mechanical Engineer and assist in daily job planning.

Equipment and Tool Management

• Ensure necessary and correct tooling is available and used at work sites for each job.
• Report any loss or damage of tools to the Mechanical Engineer.
• Inform the Mechanical Engineer of any tool requirements.
• Ensure all tools are maintained in good working order.
• Take ownership of plant mechanical equipment, striving to maintain it in optimal condition.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a mechanical technician role, ideally within a plant or industrial setting. A strong understanding of mechanical maintenance procedures and equipment operation is essential.

Work Environment

This role is based in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team, collaborating with Mechanical Engineers and Plant Operations Personnel to ensure operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
