Demi Chef de Partie

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie to join their team in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves preparing various dishes, managing kitchen equipment temperatures, and ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met. The Demi Chef de Partie will contribute to the culinary operations, maintaining high standards in food preparation and kitchen efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or alternative dishes as required.
• Regulate temperatures for ovens, broilers, grills, and roasting ovens.
• Thaw frozen food appropriately in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and garnishing of all dishes.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Indicate when assistance is needed during peak periods to maintain service flow.
• Inform the chef of surplus food items that can be utilized in daily specials.
• Communicate removed items and menu specials to Food and Beverage service staff.
• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Prepare cold food items as part of daily operations.

Operational Duties and Team Support

• Assist management with various tasks including hiring, training, planning, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and hazardous conditions.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure personal appearance and uniform are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs with clear and courteous communication.
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with peers, fostering teamwork and mutual support.
• Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and standards.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Diploma from a technical, trade, or professional institution.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: Not required for this role.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods.
• Capable of reaching objects overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
