About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking a Dentist GP Assistant to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive chairside assistance to general or specialist dentists during various clinical and surgical dental procedures, as well as performing essential clinical supportive functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, or pedodontic procedures, including patient examination and treatment.
  • Perform clinical functions such as preparing and dismissing patients, point-of-use cleaning of instrumentation, disinfecting equipment, and providing post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Maintain supply order and applicable records as requested by the dentist.
  • Participate in patient examinations and treatments by retracting cheeks and tissues, and by irrigating and aspirating mouth fluids safely.
  • Anticipate the dentist’s needs and practice four-handed dentistry to ensure efficient operative procedures.
  • Perform expanded duty procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist when required.
  • Review patient medical history, alert the dentist to significant problems, assist in updating patient history, and flag charts for important historical issues.
  • Accurately chart findings of the patient’s oral conditions as reported by the doctor and record treatment rendered in the patient’s permanent chart.
  • Maintain and periodically review skills in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, handling medical emergencies until the dentist arrives or assisting the dentist in providing emergency first aid.
  • Instruct patients in post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in a dental assistant role.
  • Proficiency in providing chairside assistance for a variety of dental procedures.
  • Knowledge of clinical supportive functions and patient care protocols.

Work Environment

This role operates entirely indoors (100%). The work schedule is 6 working days per week with 1 day off. Working hours are 8 net hours per day, based on a shift schedule approved by the head of the department.
