Principal Transport Planning & Mobility

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Principal Transport Planning & Mobility to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading and managing a team of transport planners and mobility designers within the Transport Planning & Mobility department. The Principal will be instrumental in delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions for clients, primarily in the Riyadh region, overseeing projects from concept development to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of transport projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive transport studies, analyses, and assessments to inform project planning and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and government authorities to ensure project success and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and present proposals, reports, and presentations to clients, highlighting the benefits and value of transport planning solutions.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in transport planning and mobility design, incorporating innovative approaches into projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the team, offering guidance on complex transport planning issues.
• Represent WSP at industry events, conferences, and workshops, promoting transport planning capabilities and expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in transport planning, mobility design, and project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Proficiency in transport planning software and tools, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and transport modeling software.
• A deep understanding of transport planning principles, mobility design concepts, and sustainable transport solutions.
• Experience in working with government authorities and stakeholders in the Riyadh region is highly advantageous.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the region as required for project work.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to delivering high-quality transport planning solutions.

Work Location

This position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with potential project work in other cities including Riyadh. The role may require travel within the region.
