About the Role
Pico Play is seeking a QS Engineer to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for managing all post-contract quantity surveying functions, ensuring that contractual and commercial matters are administered in line with company policies, project requirements, and applicable contract conditions.
Role Summary
The QS Engineer will oversee key aspects of post-contract activities, including measurement, valuation, variations, interim payments, claims, and final account settlement. The role involves ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and providing commercial and contractual support to the project team throughout execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer post-contract activities in accordance with contract conditions (FIDIC / bespoke forms).
- Prepare, review, and certify interim payment applications and invoices.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, change orders, and claims from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence, instructions, and variations.
- Assist in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) and cost claims with proper substantiation.
- Prepare and finalize subcontractor accounts, including variations and final settlement.
- Support the project team in commercial and contractual matters during project execution.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identifying and highlighting potential risks or overruns.
- Participate in contract reviews, progress meetings, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and applicable laws.
- Prepare final account submissions and assist in dispute resolution when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in quantity surveying.
- Demonstrated experience in post-contract quantity surveying functions.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or bespoke contract forms.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, within a professional project environment at Pico Play.
