About the Tamayyaz Waiter Role

IBIS is seeking a Tamayyaz Waiter to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is part of the Tamayyaz Nationalization Development Program, designed to equip Saudi talents with essential hospitality skills through a blend of classroom learning and on-the-job training. The role is open to candidates with 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend regular training sessions covering guest care, product knowledge, grooming standards, and up-selling techniques.
• Perform duties as instructed by the immediate Supervisor, including basic cleaning, equipment polishing, and table setting.
• Communicate directly with guests, presenting menus, offering recommendations, taking orders, placing orders, and handling payments.
• Ensure proper appearance and grooming standards are maintained while on duty.
• Greet guests upon arrival and facilitate seating through the hostess.
• Ensure the entrance is never left unattended.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and discreet relationship with outlet patrons.
• Familiarize with all menus, promotions, and relevant outlet information.
• Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate Supervisor.
• Handle guest complaints as per instructions or consult the immediate Supervisor.
• Complete all mise-en-place work according to daily service requirements.
• Report any equipment failures or problems to the Maintenance Department.
• Participate in training and development schemes as recommended by senior management.
• Attend all regular departmental briefings and contribute to open communication within the team.
• Treat guests and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner, observing high standards of personal hygiene.
• Maintain clean and organized side stations at all times and anticipate customer needs.
• Assist in other areas of the hotel if required.

Administrative Duties

• Collaborate with the hostess to ensure name tags are complete and correctly positioned.
• Hand over business cards and database information to the hostess for record-keeping.
• Ensure all bills are handed over to the cashier.
• Verify that all items are charged accurately in the micros system based on guest consumption.

Compliance and Safety

• Be familiar with the company’s internal policies and safety procedures.
• Possess a complete understanding of and adhere to policies related to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
• Be familiar with all related company documentation, especially relevant Operational Standards for the department.

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
