Job Description

About Rewaa and the AI Accounting Role

Rewaa is seeking an AI Accounting Manager to lead the operation of its AI Accountant product. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The AI Accountant automates bookkeeping for SMEs using the Rewaa platform, converting sales, inventory, and bank data into VAT-ready financial records. This position involves managing a team of accounting specialists who review AI-generated outputs, resolve exceptions, and continuously refine the product's accounting logic and automation capabilities.

Role Overview

The AI Accounting Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end operation of the AI Accountant, including managing the specialist team, overseeing the review workflow, maintaining quality standards, and driving product improvements in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams. This is a builder's role focused on increasing the product's autonomous handling capabilities, ensuring high accuracy, and validating performance through data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain data quality standards, including review protocols for AI-generated entries, exception processes for unclassified data, and error tracking.
  • Manage the improvement loop by ensuring all team corrections are labeled, analyzed, and fed back to Product and Engineering, and specify future automation requirements.
  • Act as the product's accounting domain authority, ensuring chart of accounts templates, VAT treatments, and posting rules align with Saudi accounting standards and ZATCA requirements.
  • Develop and implement the operating model, including workflows, SOPs, checklists, and escalation paths, consistently across Riyadh, Cairo, and Jordan teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to ensure correct and efficient merchant onboarding onto the product.
  • Oversee team management, including hiring, performance frameworks, reviews, coaching, and exits.
  • Identify and automate manual, repetitive review tasks to enhance efficiency and increase merchant coverage.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics such as accuracy, review throughput, exception rates, and automation gains through monthly read-outs to leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations and drive product improvement through data.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly Saudi accounting standards and ZATCA requirements.
  • Experience in managing teams across multiple locations is preferred.

Work Environment and Expectations

This is a full-time, in-office leadership role based in Riyadh. The team operates across Riyadh and Cairo. Candidates should be prepared for an environment focused on software product development and data accuracy rather than traditional accounting services. The role requires direct engagement with data and team performance rather than management solely through policy or third-party reports.
