About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an Application Manager – Database to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires a professional with a minimum of 5-6 years of experience, including preferred experience in a people management capacity, to oversee and manage application database services and lead a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver application database services within agreed budgetary requirements.
• Develop and disseminate best practices across the application database team.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate activities for projects and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for computerized systems, data, and system access controls, participating in third-party audits.
• Act as a point of escalation for individual accounts.
• Support the bidding team by signing off on bid scope and cost elements related to the service desk.
• Contribute to projects and services by adhering to standard processes and assisting in achieving and maintaining industry-level accreditation.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage, guide, and assist direct reports in performing their functional operations.
• Set performance objectives, provide support, evaluate team performance, and offer regular feedback for merit increase recommendations.
• Manage employee discipline, time and attendance, and resolve personal grievances promptly.
• Oversee resource balancing and seconding staff to specific accounts to meet SLAs and CSAT requirements efficiently.
• Responsible for the appraisal and development of site-based team leads, incorporating feedback from site operations managers.
• Promote a high-performance working environment aligned with company values.
• Provide top-down communication to employees and bottom-up feedback to management.

Strategic Planning and Operational Oversight

• Contribute to the development of the overall application database services strategy.
• Provide input for the development of application database services budgets, plans, and systems to achieve business strategic objectives.
• Develop policies and procedures that align with functional and business strategy and requirements.
• Identify and allocate necessary resources to support departmental strategic plans and objectives.

Reporting and Forecasting

• Ensure accurate reporting of budget forecasts for the application database service tower.
• Oversee the development of Operating Plans for the service tower.
• Responsible for resource forecasting for the service tower.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in a similar setup is required, with 2 years in a people management role preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) is mandatory.
• Possession of relevant technical certificates.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IT Service Framework.
• Excellent knowledge of database systems, specifically SQL DB and Oracle DB.
