About the Role
Sirar by stc, an advanced technology and cybersecurity company established by stc, is seeking a skilled Application Security professional to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining and improving the security posture of applications, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient online operations for clients. This position is designated as a Level 2/3 role, indicating a need for significant expertise and the ability to handle complex security challenges. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, manage escalated incidents, and contribute to the overall security strategy and operational excellence of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for application security systems, providing in-depth knowledge and guidance.
- Generate incident reports for critical and emergency security issues, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Manage and resolve escalated tickets and security incidents, demonstrating advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ensure the health, availability, and optimal performance of application security systems.
- Develop and maintain necessary documentation, including procedures and policies, to support security operations.
- Conduct knowledge awareness and transfer sessions to educate relevant teams on security best practices.
- Adhere to industry best practices, performing system fine-tuning, optimization, and gap analysis to enhance security.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with the Minimum Baseline Security Standards (MBSS) for management systems.
- Proactively monitor and address emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security risks.
- Keep operating systems and security signatures up-to-date to protect against known exploits.
- Manage the handover of new systems and services, ensuring a smooth and secure integration.
- Perform regular clean-up activities and access reviews to maintain system integrity and control.
- Prepare comprehensive reports that meet customer requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Respond effectively to technical questions and concerns raised by other internal teams.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks and system integrations to ensure ongoing security and functionality.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure preparedness and resilience against potential incidents.
- Escalate complex issues and software bugs to vendor technical support when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in application security or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with endpoint security solutions including DLP, AV, DAM, EDR/NDR, and XDR.
- Solid understanding and practical experience in web and email security.
- Proficiency in operating system administration, including Microsoft Operating System family, Linux, and UNIX.
- Advanced network troubleshooting experience, covering routing, DNS, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Basic understanding of programming and database concepts.
- Familiarity with APT, sandboxing, SSLV offloading, and PKI fundamentals and concepts.
- Knowledge of ITIL fundamentals, including Problem, Incident, Change, and Release Management.
- Solid understanding of virtualization and storage technologies.
- Experience with SIEM administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of information security policies and best practices in identity management.
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to efficiently resolve complex security issues.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and time management skills.
Preferred Certifications
Industry-recognized security certifications such as CCNP Security, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent related certifications are preferred. Technology/vendor-based certifications are also preferred. Operating system certifications such as MCSE and RHCSA are preferred.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a significant level of expertise, aligning with a Level 2/3 designation.
