The Opportunity

SJ Group is seeking an experienced Associate / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading mechanical design and technical delivery for major multidisciplinary projects within the Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs for various projects.
• Lead mechanical design activities from concept through detailed design and tender stages.
• Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, and electrical engineering.
• Ensure the delivery of technically robust and compliant mechanical solutions.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience.
• Strong consultancy experience delivering medium to large-scale building/infrastructure projects.
• At least 5 years of design experience in the Middle East, with a preference for Saudi/GCC projects.
• Professional registration or chartership is advantageous.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, ventilation, heating, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and relevant mechanical design/calculation software.
• Strong knowledge of relevant international standards, codes, and Middle East regulations.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven multidisciplinary coordination experience.
