About the Baker Lead Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Baker Lead for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is responsible for the preparation and execution of a variety of baked goods, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.

Core Responsibilities

The Baker Lead will prepare breads and pastries, which includes the creation of doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as required. Daily production sheets will be reviewed to understand the variety of bakery items to be produced.

  • Prepare and bake food items in accordance with established recipes, quality, and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
  • Maintain kitchen logs to ensure compliance with the food safety program.
  • Communicate surplus food items to the chef for planning daily specials.
  • Utilize tools, equipment, and measuring devices safely and appropriately for food preparation.
  • Adhere to and enforce safe food handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene standards.
  • Monitor kitchen appliances and food temperatures, reporting any issues to management.
  • Oversee the quality of prepared food and served portions throughout the shift.

Leadership and Team Support

This role involves assisting management with various human resources functions and fostering a positive team environment.

  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions; and complete required training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; uphold the confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others, and answer the telephone using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive and constructive professional relationships with colleagues, supporting teamwork to achieve common goals and handling sensitive issues with tact, respect, and confidentiality.
  • Act as a role model or mentor within the department.
  • Comply with established expectations and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks associated with a kitchen environment.

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
  • Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Reach objects overhead and below the knees, involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Maintain standing, sitting, and movement for extended periods.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.

Work Environment Details

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within the hotel's culinary department, requiring adherence to established operational standards and procedures.
