About the Baker Lead Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Baker Lead to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in baking and pastry preparation. The Baker Lead will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of all baked goods produced.

Core Responsibilities

The Baker Lead will oversee the preparation of a variety of breads and pastries. This includes the meticulous preparation of doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating to meet established standards. A key duty involves reviewing the daily production sheet to understand the range of baked goods required and ensuring their timely and accurate preparation.

Key Duties and Tasks

  • Prepare and cook food items following established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Safely and appropriately utilize baking tools, measuring equipment, and appliances.
  • Monitor and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food items, reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintain consistent quality and portion control of all prepared food throughout the shift.

Operational and Team Support

This role involves maintaining kitchen logs for food safety compliance and communicating excess food inventory to the Chef for daily specials planning. The Baker Lead is expected to adhere to and enforce food safety handling policies, including personal hygiene procedures. Additionally, the role includes assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and employee motivation, serving as a role model for the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Must be able to move over various surfaces and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Workplace Standards and Conduct

All employees are expected to follow company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols, and report any accidents or unsafe conditions. Maintaining a clean, professional appearance and ensuring the confidentiality of proprietary information are essential.
