Role Overview

DeepSource Technologies is seeking a Business Analyst (Data Warehouse & Analytics) to join our team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time role is designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience. The primary objective of this position is to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, specifically in the implementation of a Telecom Data Lakehouse/Data Warehouse. The Business Analyst will be instrumental in gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and translating business needs into functional specifications to ensure the successful delivery of data products and analytics solutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across various telecom domains, including Customer, Billing, CRM, Network, Revenue Assurance, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Digital Channels.
• Conduct workshops and interviews with business users to understand reporting, analytical, and operational requirements.
• Document business processes, functional requirements, and business rules.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for Data Engineers, Data Modelers, ETL Developers, and BI Developers.
• Define source-to-target mapping requirements and validate data transformations.
• Identify data sources, business definitions, KPIs, dimensions, and measures essential for reporting and analytics.
• Support the definition of data quality rules, validation criteria, and reconciliation requirements.
• Review ETL mapping documents to ensure correct implementation of business logic.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, validating results, and obtaining business sign-off.
• Maintain business glossaries, metadata, and comprehensive documentation.

Required Qualifications and Foundational Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong business analysis and requirement elicitation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in documenting business requirements and functional specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including Facts and Dimensions, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), Data Lineage, Metadata Management, and Data Quality.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in SQL.
• Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Lakehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of ETL concepts and data integration.
• Experience with Data Mapping documentation.
• Understanding of Data Quality frameworks.
• Exposure to BI and Reporting platforms.
• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, Hive, Impala, Spark, or cloud data platforms is an advantage.

Collaboration and Project Engagement

This role requires close collaboration with Solution Architects and Data Modelers to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in the Data Lakehouse/Data Warehouse design. The Business Analyst will work closely with Data Engineers during development to clarify business rules and resolve functional issues. Furthermore, active participation in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirement prioritization, is expected to facilitate effective communication and project progression throughout the lifecycle.
