About the Role
TE Connectivity is seeking a Business Development Manager for Smart Grid opportunities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves identifying and developing new business avenues while nurturing existing client relationships to contribute to the company's growth strategy. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to advance energy automation and grid intelligence solutions. TE Connectivity is particularly interested in connecting with qualified Saudi nationals for this role, as part of a commitment to developing local talent and strengthening regional presence.
Market and Business Development
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new market opportunities that align with strategic objectives. This includes leading market entry strategies for new regions and customer segments, as well as developing and implementing new business models and cooperation frameworks with strategic partners. Continuous monitoring of market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics across relevant regions is also a key aspect of this role.
Customer and Opportunity Management
A core function of this role is to build, grow, and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers. This involves close collaboration with Key Account Management and Customer Service teams to ensure a seamless and value-driven customer experience. The Business Development Manager will also drive commercial discussions and negotiations, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
Product Alignment and Market Feedback
This position requires close partnership with Product Management to ensure that customer needs are effectively aligned with the product roadmap. The Business Development Manager will provide essential market feedback to support the development of innovative solutions and contribute to portfolio planning and lifecycle management activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Pipeline Management
Collaboration extends to partnering with TE Energy’s regional and global sales teams to leverage synergies and drive joint growth initiatives. The role involves managing and growing strategic partnerships and distribution channels, and coordinating with internal functions such as Marketing, Engineering, and Operations. Proactive management of the business development pipeline, ensuring a healthy mix of short-, mid-, and long-term opportunities, is crucial. All sales and business development activities will be tracked in Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy and providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making and forecasting. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be monitored to report progress against business development targets.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic marketing is required. While experience in the energy sector is preferred, it is not mandatory. Proven success in developing new markets and managing complex, multi-stakeholder customer relationships is essential. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is necessary. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills are expected, along with the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed, international environment. Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
