About the Role of Chief Accountant

National Parcel Stations Network | Parcelat is seeking a Chief Accountant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing the accounting department, developing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Chief Accountant will also support company leadership with strategic planning and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, month-end accruals, and provisions.
• Manage year-end and month-end closing processes and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management financial reports.
• Review and approve all payment transactions, such as reimbursements, payments on account, vouchers, and checks.
• Act as the primary contact for internal and external audits and liaise with external government institutions.
• Respond to all queries related to financial matters.
• Recommend and draft financial and accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to the accounting manual.
• Review and approve journal vouchers, and investigate and correct financial entry errors.
• Coordinate accurate and timely payments to suppliers.
• Prepare yearly budgets and administer all balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Serve as the point of contact for queries regarding employee and supplier payments.
• Review accounts payable and weekly check runs.
• Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.
• Compile and analyze financial information for general ledger accounts, cost centers, and business transactions.
• Distribute financial statements and cost center reports.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level.
• Experience in creating budgets, developing accounting guidelines, managing year-end accounts, and liaising with external auditors.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written, is required.
• Strong user skills with ERP systems.
• A background in Logistics or IT is preferred.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a dedicated professional to manage the company's accounting operations.
