About the Role

Kanz is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 5-10 years of experience to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on supporting pre-contract and commercial functions within the construction industry.

Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will be instrumental in managing project costs and commercial aspects. This role involves detailed work on Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation, cost control measures, and providing essential support for tender processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial and contractual success of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and cost plans.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from project drawings.
  • Support tender pricing activities and commercial submissions.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and proposals.
  • Assist in contract administration and ongoing cost control.
  • Support risk management and value engineering initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc or BEng / HNDE in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 9–11 years of post-graduate experience in a QS or Estimation role within the construction industry, specifically on the contractor side.
  • Demonstrable experience across both pre-contract and post-contract functions.
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of contract, such as JCT, NEC3/NEC4, FIDIC, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in measurement and estimating software (*, CostX, Buildsoft, Bluebeam).
  • Advanced knowledge of the Candy Cost Estimation tool.
  • Experience within a specific sector such as residential, commercial, infrastructure, fit-out, or civils.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Commercial awareness and sound contractual understanding.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach focused on value and risk management.
  • Professional integrity and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.

Additional Information

Immediate joining is required for this role. Candidates must be residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and possess a valid Iqama.
