About the Role

Tangent International is seeking an experienced Senior 5G Cloud Engineer for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role supports a leading telecommunications organisation in the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of next-generation cloud-native mobile core networks.

Role Context and Impact

The Senior 5G Cloud Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of critical cloud core network platforms. This involves working alongside engineering and operations teams within environments focused on 5G Core, EPC, NFV, and cloud-based core networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining 5G Cloud and Core Network infrastructure.
• Managing 5G Core and EPC technologies.
• Monitoring and optimising network performance.
• Performing software upgrades and patch management.
• Executing configuration management and compliance audits.
• Conducting fault analysis and root cause investigations.
• Performing protocol analysis and end-to-end troubleshooting.
• Managing NFV and Cloud Native Network Infrastructure.
• Ensuring network security and regulatory compliance.
• Providing technical support to operations and field teams.
• Implementing network automation and scripting solutions.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience operating and maintaining 5G Core and EPC network nodes.
• Experience with software upgrades, patch management, and configuration management.
• Experience working with network management and monitoring tools.

Required Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of 5GC architecture, NFV, UDM, HSS, HLR, MSC, MGW, IP STP, UDC, DSC, EIR, UPG, CCDM, CCRC, CCSM, SC, EDA2, and NeLS.

Essential Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and end-to-end performance analysis skills.
• Scripting or automation experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
