About the Role

Tangent International is seeking an experienced Cloud Performance Engineer to support Mobile Core Network cloud performance activities. This contract position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a managed services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing cloud infrastructure performance, supporting technical teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and developing reports, tools, and processes to enhance Core Network performance delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-demand, short-term, and long-term Mobile Core cloud performance analysis.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize virtualized and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Support OpenStack, Kubernetes, and OpenShift environments.
  • Analyze compute, processing, storage, and networking performance.
  • Perform resource optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Support hybrid environments covering virtual infrastructure, cloud-native platforms, and bare-metal infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and performance issues, performing root cause analysis.
  • Support monitoring and observability using tools including Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Support Day-0, Day-1, and Day-2 operational activities, including upgrades, patching, expansion, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop reports, tools, and processes to improve cloud performance delivery.
  • Support SLA and ITSM compliance.
  • Collaborate with technical and customer-facing teams.

Technical Experience

Candidates should possess experience across various technical domains, including:

  • Virtualization & NFVi: OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone), KVM/QEMU, VMware, NFVi, Ericsson CEE, SDI, and CCD.
  • Cloud-Native: Kubernetes, OpenShift / RHOCP, Docker, Helm, Operators, and CNF environments.
  • Compute & Performance: COTS servers (Dell, HPE), Host aggregates and availability zones, Resource optimization, L1 accelerators, Performance tuning, and Capacity planning.
  • Storage: Ceph / Rook-Ceph, Cinder and Manila, iSCSI, SAN/NAS, CSI drivers, OSD management, Persistent volumes, snapshots, and replication.
  • Networking: Spine-leaf / CLOS architecture, L2/L3 networking, BGP and VXLAN, VLANs, SDN controllers, CNI plugins, MetalLB, Juniper, Extreme and SDI switches, SR-IOV, and East-west/north-south traffic.
  • Automation & Lifecycle: Ansible, Terraform, Heat templates, Helm, Python and Bash scripting, Day-0/1/2 operations, Upgrades, patching, expansion, and LCM.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Prometheus / Grafana, Hardware health monitoring, RCA and observability, SLA / ITSM compliance.
  • Security & Operations: Network policies, Image scanning and hardening, PKI, Syslog, Production support, and Customer integration.

Additional Skills and Attributes

Beneficial skills include experience with Linux shell, SQL, technical reporting, and KPI/performance analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent English communication and reporting capabilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a customer-facing environment.
