About the Role

Cognizant is seeking a Technology Specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on designing, monitoring, and enhancing enterprise Java applications. The specialist will leverage tools like AppDynamics and LoadRunner to ensure systems are highly reliable and performant, with a focus on end-to-end application performance and proactive issue detection.

Role Purpose and Context

The Technology Specialist will contribute to continuous optimization efforts and collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams. This position operates within a day-based office work model, requiring 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Java-based application components aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Configure and maintain AppDynamics monitoring to track key performance indicators and ensure visibility into application health.
• Analyze performance metrics from AppDynamics to identify bottlenecks and propose optimization strategies.
• Develop and execute performance test scripts in LoadRunner to validate application behavior and forecast capacity.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot complex performance issues and resolve incidents.
• Document performance baselines and create detailed runbooks for standard operating procedures and tuning practices.
• Coordinate with quality engineering teams to integrate performance testing into the software delivery lifecycle.
• Review application code for performance best practices in Java and provide constructive feedback.
• Implement automation for monitoring alerts and reporting to address recurring issues efficiently.
• Participate in incident review sessions to analyze root causes and define corrective actions.
• Engage with product and business stakeholders to translate non-functional requirements into measurable performance goals.
• Prepare clear performance reports and dashboards for technical and non-technical partners.
• Adhere to organizational policies on security, compliance, and quality.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong hands-on proficiency in AppDynamics configuration, dashboard creation, and alert tuning for multi-tier Java applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Java, including memory management, threading, and optimization techniques.
• Solid experience with LoadRunner for designing performance scenarios, interpreting results, and recommending tuning strategies.
• Practical understanding of relational databases and query optimization.
• Sound experience working with modern build and deployment pipelines to integrate performance checks.
• Proven ability to work in a structured office-based environment following day shifts.
• Strong communication and documentation capabilities to explain complex performance findings.
