About the Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Cluster Assistant Purchasing Manager to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position is open exclusively to Saudi Nationals and involves managing purchasing operations across various departments, ensuring adherence to established procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and payment of items. The role also supports the formulation of an approved vendor list.

Key Responsibilities in Purchasing Operations

  • Generate and provide accurate and timely reports and presentations.
  • Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information and data.
  • Ensure sanitation compliance and maintain sanitation and safety standards as per brand guidelines.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all aspects of purchasing, including food, beverage, and controllable items, to ensure quality and profitability.
  • Order all food and beverage based on business needs and assist in maintaining/lowering budgeted food/controllable costs.
  • Enforce first-in/first-out inventory rotation for all storeroom products and ensure proper safeguards for the security of food and beverage storeroom assets.
  • Communicate with kitchen, restaurant management, and vendors to ensure timely deliveries that satisfy advanced food production needs.
  • Check invoices against received goods to verify quantity, quality, weights, and purchase specifications.
  • Utilize existing computer programs for daily and period-end food and beverage cost calculations.
  • Maintain inventory controls for proper levels, dating, rotation, and requisitions.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including C-7s, menu costing, and general office duties, on a timely basis.
  • Complete period-end inventory according to Food and Beverage and Accounting standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that price and product availability issues are communicated to the F&B Director and Executive Chef as needed.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting all deliveries and maintain an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetual.
  • Ensure accurate administration of all invoices and adherence to proper bookkeeping procedures.

Financial and Accounting Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Use computers and computer systems to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Utilize relevant information and individual judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Stay technically current and apply new knowledge to the job.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of * standards.
  • Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately.
  • Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Monitor all applicable taxes, ensuring they are current, collected, and/or accrued.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to identify solutions to problems.
  • Interact with kitchen staff, vendors, and the Executive Chef.
  • Effectively use existing computer programs to post invoices and update items and costs.
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Inform and/or update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 year of relevant experience in a purchasing or related role. The ability to follow established procedures and demonstrate proficiency in accounting knowledge applied to purchasing operations is essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Marriott Hotels & Resorts cluster. The role requires active engagement with various departments, vendors, and management to ensure efficient and compliant purchasing operations.
