Role Overview

WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join its Project Management and Construction Management (PMCM) team. Based in Riyadh, this full-time role is critical for supporting the successful delivery of a landmark development in the region.

Key Focus of the Position

This is a delivery-focused position that requires strong leadership in overseeing construction supervision activities, managing contractors, and coordinating with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will act as the Client's representative on site, driving construction progress, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and maintaining compliance across multiple work fronts. The primary objective is to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with established schedules and budget objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all site construction activities within the assigned project scope.
• Monitor contractor performance against approved schedules, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Drive construction progress and proactively resolve site issues affecting delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, authorities, and client representatives.
• Review and monitor construction methodologies, logistics plans, recovery plans, and sequencing strategies.
• Chair site progress meetings and provide accurate reporting on project performance.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and project quality standards.
• Review contractor resource deployment and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Manage inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
• Support commercial and contract teams regarding claims, variations, delays, and risk mitigation measures.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery targets.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates for this position should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, preferably within a consultant or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment. Demonstrated leadership in managing complex construction projects and a proven ability to drive project execution are essential.

Work Environment

The role is based on-site in Riyadh, working within the PMCM team dedicated to a significant landmark development. It involves active engagement with various project teams and external parties to ensure seamless project delivery.
