About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Consultant, Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join its dedicated team. This full-time position involves providing specialized medical care and treatment within the Pediatric Emergency Medicine field, upholding the highest standards of patient care and hospital protocols.

Role Overview

The Consultant is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions specific to pediatric emergency cases. This role requires adherence to the current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the Hospital’s established policies and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality healthcare delivery.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, in line with approved clinical privileges.
  • Deliver timely consultations for inpatients and emergency room cases upon request, adhering to prescribed hospital timeframes.
  • Offer on-call services, ensuring availability and prompt response within the timeframes stipulated by Hospital policy.
  • Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for transfer or discharge.
  • Ensure that all transfer or discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to the planned discharge or transfer.
  • Perform additional clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.

Documentation and Compliance

A critical aspect of this role involves ensuring the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of all medical records. The Consultant must maintain meticulous documentation to support patient care and comply with all regulatory and institutional standards.

Education and Professional Development

  • Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Actively participate in the Department’s educational activities and training programs.
  • Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through continuous education to meet ongoing requirements.

Required Experience

Candidates for this Consultant position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
