About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking an experienced Contracts Administration Manager for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading all contract administration, commercial governance, and contractual compliance activities for a major site supervision consultancy project. The manager will be responsible for overseeing construction contracts, providing contractual advice, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all contract administration activities in accordance with contractual requirements and company procedures.
  • Serve as the primary contractual advisor to the Project Director, Resident Engineer, and project management team.
  • Administer construction and consultancy contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, technical specifications, and related project agreements.
  • Manage contractual correspondence between the Client, Consultant, Contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and evaluate contractor notices, claims, variations, and extension of time submissions.
  • Provide contractual recommendations related to claims, disputes, and project changes.
  • Assess variation orders and change requests to determine contractual entitlement and impacts.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, and milestone requirements.
  • Ensure proper administration of contract amendments, addenda, and supplemental agreements.
  • Support procurement and tendering activities by reviewing contractual documents and commercial conditions.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract records and ensure all contractual communications are documented.
  • Coordinate with planning, commercial, technical, and project controls teams to evaluate contractual implications.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of payment certifications and contractual assessments.
  • Provide support in dispute avoidance and resolution processes.
  • Participate in negotiations related to contract changes, claims settlements, and commercial agreements.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with project governance, approval procedures, and client requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare contractual reports, risk assessments, and executive summaries for senior management.
  • Support project closeout activities, including final account settlement and contract completion procedures.
  • Mentor and guide contracts engineers and contract administration personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s Degree in Construction Law, Commercial Management, Contract Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as MRICS, MCIOB, CCP, PMP, MCIArb, or RICS are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of overall professional experience in contract administration and commercial management.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Contracts Administration Manager role on major construction projects.
  • Proven experience in large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, hospitality developments, mixed-use developments, or mega-projects.
  • Extensive experience within Site Supervision Consultancy, PMC, Engineering Consultancy, or major construction organizations.
  • Strong expertise in contract administration under FIDIC forms of contract.
  • Demonstrated experience in claims management, variation assessments, extension of time evaluations, and dispute resolution.
  • Thorough understanding of construction law, contractual procedures, and project delivery methods.
  • Experience administering high-value construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost management principles.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and GCC contracting practices.
  • Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves close collaboration with the Client, Project Director, Resident Engineer, Commercial Team, and Contractors. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting project interests, mitigating contractual risks, and supporting successful project delivery.
