Data Center Services & Support Engineer Arabic

About the Role

HCLTech is seeking a Data Center Services & Support Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for providing hands-on operational support within enterprise data center environments, ensuring high availability, operational stability, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) for 24x7 business-critical infrastructure operations. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

The Data Center Services & Support Engineer will manage the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle management of IT infrastructure components. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing structured cabling activities for copper and fiber-optic infrastructure, including installation, termination, labeling, and testing.
• Maintaining accurate cable management standards and verifying network connectivity.
• Installing, racking, stacking, cabling, and decommissioning IT infrastructure equipment such as servers, storage arrays, and network devices.
• Performing hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting infrastructure faults, and replacing faulty components (HDD, SSD, RAM, PSU, NIC, HBAs).
• Coordinating with OEM vendors for hardware replacement and warranty support.
• Maintaining data center inventory and asset records, supporting asset tagging, audits, and secure disposal of retired IT assets.
• Monitoring UPS, PDU, electrical distribution systems, temperature, humidity, airflow, and cooling systems.
• Participating in UPS preventive maintenance, generator testing, and power failover exercises.
• Responding to incidents, service requests, and infrastructure alerts within defined SLA targets.
• Performing first-line troubleshooting, escalating complex incidents, and participating in Major Incident Management.
• Maintaining operational runbooks, SOPs, technical documentation, rack layouts, asset inventories, and floor plans.
• Ensuring compliance with ITIL processes, security policies, and operational procedures.

Hardware and Cabling Support

This role involves comprehensive support for physical infrastructure, including structured cabling for copper and fiber-optic systems. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring proper cable routing, labeling, and documentation in accordance with organizational standards, and assisting network teams during deployments, migrations, and troubleshooting activities. Accurate documentation of incidents, service requests, and changes in the ITSM tool is also required.

Infrastructure Installation and Maintenance

The engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of IT infrastructure equipment, from deployment to decommissioning. This includes performing break-fix support according to operational procedures and vendor guidelines, coordinating with OEM vendors for hardware replacement, and maintaining precise data center inventory and asset records to ensure compliance with asset and configuration management processes.

Power and Environmental Monitoring

A critical aspect of the role is the monitoring and maintenance of data center power and environmental systems. This includes regular health checks on UPS, PDU, electrical distribution, cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units), temperature, humidity, and airflow. The engineer will escalate power outages and environmental risks, and coordinate with facilities management teams during maintenance activities to ensure compliance with operational standards and safety requirements.

Incident, Service Request, and Change Management

The engineer will play a key role in managing incidents, service requests, and changes. This involves responding to alerts within defined SLA targets, performing initial troubleshooting, and escalating complex issues. Participation in Major Incident Management and supporting change implementation activities, including post-implementation validation and documentation, are also core functions.
