Data Governance and Compliance Lead Expert

About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking a Data Governance and Compliance Lead Expert to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading data governance activities and ensuring data consistency, security, accuracy, and compliance within the organization. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The Data Governance and Compliance Lead Expert will operate autonomously with minor direction, working towards predetermined long-term objectives. This role acts as an internal consultant and facilitator, providing guidance for operational activities. Key responsibilities include developing data governance roadmaps and programs, supervising data governance activities, and identifying areas for improvement to mitigate data-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the latest news, trends, best practices, and international standards in data governance to identify necessary updates for policies, standards, and procedures.
• Review National Data Management Office (NDMO) approved standards and policies to recommend updates to ZATCA’s current data guides and ensure continuous adherence to NDMO requirements.
• Manage the implementation of data governance activities across ZATCA’s functions, identifying non-compliant cases and ensuring timely resolution.
• Review functions and duties to allocate access rights to internal stakeholders, ensuring limited information access and data protection.
• Develop and update information controls to protect ZATCA from unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution of cases and issues.
• Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to established policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated expertise in data governance and compliance.
