Database Expert (Oracle SQL Server Exadata)

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Database Expert with extensive experience in Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata technologies. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience to manage and optimize complex database environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Oracle databases, including performance tuning (SQL optimization, indexing), security (Data Redaction, user privilege management), high availability (Data Guard), and backup/recovery (RMAN).
• Manage Exadata architecture, focusing on storage management, performance optimization (In-Memory, InfiniBand), and integration with Oracle database features.
• Perform SQL Server administration, covering performance optimization (query tuning), security (Always Encrypted, data masking), high availability (Always On Availability Groups), and backup/recovery.
• Administer MySQL databases, including performance optimization, security best practices, replication configurations, and backup/recovery.
• Design and implement secure database configurations across Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Sybase environments, defining and enforcing security policies.
• Develop complex scripts for database administration automation and monitor database health, performance, and availability.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions for performance degradation or data corruption.
• Adhere to established database administration policies, security standards, and operational procedures, while identifying and assessing database-related risks.
• Participate in planning and executing database changes in line with change management procedures, providing technical support and assisting with rollback procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 7+ years in Oracle DBA roles.
• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with OCI, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
• Skills: Proven experience in database migration and performance tuning.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of multiple database technologies, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Continuous Learning: Stays updated with industry trends, emerging database technologies, and security best practices.
