About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Saudi National Deputy Engineer (Mechanical) for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves leading mechanical discipline activities and providing technical guidance throughout construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical discipline for the P&R Fit-Out team, offering technical guidance during construction.
  • Provide engineering and technical support for all on-site mechanical works.
  • Oversee and monitor mechanical construction activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Review contractor mechanical shop drawings and coordinate with structural, architectural, and electrical disciplines for design integration and constructability.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and evaluate subcontractor performance for quality and compliance.
  • Support and guide site inspectors on mechanical engineering matters and oversee inspection activities.
  • Ensure complete and accurate records of inspections and test reports are maintained.
  • Review site preparation activities and temporary works for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Supervise mechanical installations and monitor contractor construction schedules for MEP services.
  • Identify, report, and assist in resolving technical issues related to HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, smoke management, escalators, elevators, and other mechanical systems.
  • Manage punch lists and defect registers, ensuring timely corrective actions by contractors.
  • Review and comment on testing and commissioning results for mechanical systems.
  • Attend project, progress, and technical coordination meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Promote and enforce site safety requirements and monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support construction planning, sequencing, and delivery in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
  • Monitor work progress and support progress verification for payment and schedule reporting.
  • Review Field Change Requests (FCRs) and provide technical advice on mechanical-related variations and claims.
  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to support project completion.
  • Prepare daily reports, inspection reports, progress updates, estimates, and other required project documentation.
  • Participate in final inspections, snagging activities, and project handover processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant site-based experience on construction projects involving mechanical systems.
  • Extensive experience with HVAC systems, smoke management systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, escalators, and elevators.
  • Strong ability to interpret and execute mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Sound understanding of system interfaces, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction processes.
  • Strong knowledge of site management practices, construction safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Experience

  • Previous GCC project experience.
  • Experience working on rail, metro, transit, or other major transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience leading mechanical construction and fit-out activities within complex project environments.

Requirements

  • Requires 5-10 Years experience
