Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Design Manager (Master planning) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading the design function, ensuring creative excellence, and aligning design strategies with organizational goals. The Design Manager will oversee design operations, provide mentorship to team members, and collaborate across departments to deliver design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and implement comprehensive design strategies, plans, and criteria for various projects.
• Assess the feasibility, soundness, and innovation potential of proposed design concepts.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of designers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee specialized design functions, including large-scale design projects, brand development, and design system implementations.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with design standards, quality benchmarks, and relevant regulations.
• Serve as a technical advisor on design-related matters, providing expert guidance to stakeholders and leadership.
• Evaluate design operations, activities, and team performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare detailed reports on design initiatives, project outcomes, and operational metrics, including recommendations.
• Manage design budgets and resources efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and engineering, to align design solutions with business objectives.
• Advise leadership and stakeholders on design-related strategic matters and emerging industry trends.
• Customize design approaches to meet diverse customer needs while maintaining brand consistency.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in design management or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design functions and drive creative excellence.
• Experience in overseeing large-scale design projects and implementing design systems.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive design strategies.

Work Environment

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time role within a dynamic team environment. The Design Manager will work collaboratively across various departments and with external stakeholders.
