The Role of DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer at Lucidya, you will contribute to the infrastructure and automation that supports fast-moving, AI-driven products. This role ensures system scalability, smooth deployments, and proactive incident detection. You will enable engineering teams to focus on feature development by maintaining a robust platform. The position is full-time and based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province, requiring 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support cloud infrastructure management and automation with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, including Grafana.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and provide infrastructure and deployment support to development teams.
• Troubleshoot deployment, application, and infrastructure issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers to enhance system performance, reliability, and release processes.
• Adhere to security best practices across deployment pipelines, applications, and infrastructure.
• Participate in incident investigation and resolution, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of infrastructure workflows and operational processes.

Daily Activities

• Deploy applications and support routine operations within Kubernetes environments.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for new and existing services.
• Monitor system health, investigate alerts, and resolve common deployment and infrastructure issues.
• Support developers with application deployments, environment configurations, and infrastructure requests.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate repetitive operational tasks.
• Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to investigate complex incidents and improve system reliability.
• Identify opportunities to enhance automation, observability, and operational efficiency.

Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured by the reliability of CI/CD pipelines, successful deployment and operation of containerized applications in Kubernetes, and faster identification and resolution of infrastructure issues. Other indicators include reduced manual operational effort through automation, improved monitoring and visibility into application health, and effective collaboration with engineering teams, supported by clear documentation of operational processes.

Initial 90-Day Objectives

1. Days 0–30: Understand Lucidya’s infrastructure, architecture, deployment workflows, tools, and operational practices. Become familiar with existing cloud environments and Kubernetes deployments.
2. Days 30–60: Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements, support routine deployments, troubleshoot common issues, and take ownership of smaller infrastructure tasks with guidance from senior engineers.
3. Days 60–90: Successfully onboard 2–3 services onto the existing Kubernetes environment, including appropriate CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and health checks, collaborating with senior engineers as needed.
