Director of Safety AOC (GACA)

About BEOND and the Role

BEOND is the world's first premium leisure airline, operating an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet. The company is currently establishing new Air Operator Certificates (AOCs), including one in Saudi Arabia under the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). We are seeking a Director of Safety for our Saudi Arabia AOC, to be based full-time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose and Regulatory Framework

This is a required management position under GACAR Part **** The Director of Safety is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Executive. The successful candidate must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on their experience, competence, and knowledge, demonstrating a full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements, and the operations manual, as specified in GACAR ****** and (g).

Key Responsibilities

• Own and administer the Safety Management System (SMS) across the Saudi AOC.
• Lead hazard identification, risk management, safety assurance, and foster a just reporting culture.
• Manage safety performance indicators, the safety review board, and safety promotion activities.
• Provide independent safety oversight of operations and maintenance activities.
• Interface with GACA on safety matters, audits, and findings.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Must serve full-time in the position, as stipulated by GACAR *******
• Qualified through training, experience, and expertise in aviation safety management.
• Possess a full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements, and the operations manual.
• Must be acceptable to GACA, as per GACAR ****** and (g).

Desirable Skills and Experience

• A recognized safety-management qualification.
• Experience in Safety Management System (SMS) implementation.
• Prior experience with Air Operator Certificate (AOC) stand-up processes.
