About the Document Controller Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Document Controller to support the EXPO 2030 Riyadh project. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience in document management. Bechtel has a long history of managing complex projects globally, and this role is integral to the successful infrastructure program for Expo 2030, an event anticipated to welcome over 40 million visitors.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Document Controller will provide essential support to the EXPO project by performing document and administrative tasks under the direction of the Project Document Manager. This role involves ensuring all activities align with applicable governance documents and project objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing the project Electronic Content Management System (ECMS) for the registration, control, distribution, transmission, filing, and archiving of project documents.
  • Providing training on Aconex to project team members and external organizations.
  • Communicating effectively with project team members, clients, and field personnel to support quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Supporting quality assurance audits, internal technical reviews, client reviews, and external audits.
  • Preparing routine documents and reports using standard office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Attending supplier kickoff meetings as required.
  • Staying informed about department technologies, techniques, and available services.
  • Operating standard office equipment, copiers, and automation tools.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to project team members on the use of automated document management tools.
  • Performing or assisting with other general administrative activities as needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position must meet the following educational and experience requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of current experience performing document management and/or document control processes, obtained within the last 3 years.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with standard office automation tools, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned document management tasks.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates will possess a strong set of skills and competencies, including:

  • Document and records management experience, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Experience using Aconex, including proficiency in using and managing workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility to accept and adapt quickly to changes in work focus.
  • Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice as necessary.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and stakeholders, necessitating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic project environment.
