About the Role

LT-Larsen & Toubro is seeking an EHS Officer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves establishing, monitoring, appraising, and coordinating an integrated health, safety, and environment management system for construction projects. The system must conform to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards. The position also includes improvising procedure manuals and internal audits based on these standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all EHS-related documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Attend all EHS meetings with clients and the project team.
  • Report all EHS-related issues to the Head Office.
  • Provide EHS induction training to new workers.
  • Conduct daily EHS inspections for the assigned zone.
  • Ensure appropriate safe work permits are obtained by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main Contractors.
  • Conduct risk assessments throughout the site and inform Site Engineers and/or Clients/Main Contractors of high-risk areas.
  • Ensure toolbox talks are properly delivered by Engineers weekly to promote EHS awareness among workers.
  • Ensure all personnel wear personal protective equipment, including helmets, EHS shoes, and coveralls.
  • Ensure equipment such as ladders and scaffolding are in good working condition before use.
  • Ensure satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including the availability of water, rest areas, and adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping on the project site to prevent incidents and accidents.
  • Conduct Job EHS Analysis on high-risk activities to minimize hazardous conditions.
  • Encourage workers and engineers to implement EHS practices.
  • Conduct investigations with engineers in case of minor or major incidents/accidents.
  • Communicate investigation results to workers and engineers for future precautions.
  • Administer first-aid and/or seek medical assistance in case of worker injury.
  • Maintain all documentation related to EHS activities.
  • Conduct training programs on EHS topics for engineers and workers on site, as well as in HR-organized EHS training programs.
  • Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for critical activities and ensure method statements incorporate the findings.
  • Prepare EHS Plans and Environment Management Plans.
  • Coordinate External EHS Audits and Third-Party Inspections of Equipment.
  • Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and Conduct Emergency Drills.
  • Facilitate the implementation of a Work Permit System.
  • Coordinate occupational health and welfare measures.
  • Prepare conditions of contract on EHS for sub-contractors.
  • Stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a commitment to action at all times.
  • Carry out project Risk Management Audits monthly and system audits quarterly.
  • Provide EHS reports to the project head and IC Head to inform them of the current status of EHS performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience in a relevant EHS role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on construction project sites and coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, project teams, and workers.
