About the Procurement Engineer Role

alfanar Group is seeking a Procurement Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves executing core procurement activities to ensure the acquisition of materials, services, and assets with the right specifications, price, quality, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities including sourcing, contracting, and supplier development, alongside purchasing requested materials, services, assets, MRO, and general items.
  • Develop and evaluate suppliers to meet objectives for cost savings, delivery performance, and material quality, conducting regular performance evaluations and site visits for prequalification and partnership strengthening.
  • Implement sourcing and contracting plans, maximizing contracted items with approved suppliers to secure favorable terms and reduce purchasing cycle time, while ensuring commercial, legal, and contractual compliance.
  • Process purchase requests by understanding detailed requirements and coordinating with requesters and technical teams, managing RFx processes from identified source lists.
  • Negotiate purchase conditions, considering specifications, delivery time, and cost elements, and compare quotations based on approved forms to determine the best commercial and delivery terms.
  • Initiate alternative material specifications based on market availability with technical team involvement and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to selected suppliers.
  • Manage PO lifecycle, ensuring all required documents are attached, obtaining necessary approvals, sending POs to suppliers, and following up on acknowledgments and delivery schedules until order closure and payment.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with commodity heads, maintain vendor master information, and manage non-conformity processes for rejected materials, leading corrective actions.

  • Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for cost and time efficiency.
  • Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
  • Address and resolve related problems, escalating complex operational issues as needed.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met through effective quality control processes and specifications.
  • Contribute to business process improvements by coordinating well-defined systems and procedures, and seeking automation opportunities.
  • Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined work area.
