Job Description

About the Role: Engineer, Testing & Commissioning

alfanar is seeking a full-time Engineer, Testing & Commissioning to join its team in Riyadh. This role is focused on the critical phase of commissioning and conducting tests on power plants and substations to ensure their readiness prior to operational launch. The position requires 0-1 years of professional experience.

Core Testing and Commissioning Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional testing in accordance with specified schemes and execute site testing and commissioning activities.
  • Perform testing and commissioning activities related to substations or power plants.
  • Test and commission substation equipment, including various types of relays, switchgear, and transformers.
  • Coordinate testing activities during customer inspections.
  • Resolve technical issues that arise during power plant testing and site commissioning.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures throughout the testing and commissioning processes.

Documentation and Technical Support

  • Prepare comprehensive test reports for projects and new equipment, including necessary updates and corrections.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of non-conformances and all troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide technical support by reviewing design documents before their official release.

Quality Assurance and Operational Compliance

  • Initiate continuous improvement efforts and maintain accurate records in consultation with the department manager.
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions, ensuring proper record-keeping in consultation with the department manager.
  • Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Team Leadership and Operational Effectiveness

  • Train subordinates and foster effective team formation to ensure efficient work execution.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates across all aspects of their work.
  • Delegate assignments effectively to subordinates and ensure fair task distribution to maintain morale and motivation.
  • Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to established delivery schedules.
  • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.
  • Provide periodic reports detailing any deviations and the execution status of planned tasks.
  • Resolve operational problems that arise and escalate complex issues as necessary.
  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, actively seeking automation opportunities.
