Role Overview

SGS is seeking a dedicated Environmental Monitoring Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is focused on delivering specialized environmental support to meet the business needs of our clients, specifically within government-affiliated offices. The specialist will ensure adherence to environmental standards and provide expert analysis and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Monitoring Specialist will undertake a range of responsibilities, including:

• Preparing periodic reports on environmental conditions and pollution levels.
• Reviewing local and international regulations and classifying pollutants accordingly.
• Recommending appropriate environmental parameters for testing based on pollution type, environmental medium, and applicable classifications.
• Preparing reports on local and international best practices for environmental sample collection, preservation, and location selection.
• Preparing reports on approved local and international best practices for environmental sample analysis.
• Preparing technical reports for environmental surveys and studies.
• Analyzing environmental data and reports upon request.
• Preparing, reviewing, and interpreting environmental reports and monitoring data.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including EPA, NCEC, and ISO.
• Preparing technical recommendations and advisory reports.
• Supporting clients with regulatory submissions and compliance requirements.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Environmental Monitoring Specialist position are required to have 5 to 10 years of professional experience in environmental monitoring or a closely related field. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of environmental regulations, data analysis, and reporting.

Work Setting

This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The specialist will primarily provide support directly at the offices of SGS's clients, who are government affiliates, ensuring direct engagement and tailored environmental expertise.
