ABYATONA Real Estates is seeking a qualified Estimation Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to the successful planning and execution of our projects within the region.

The Role of an Estimation Engineer

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for accurately projecting the total cost of construction, engineering, or manufacturing projects before work commences. This involves a detailed analysis of technical plans, material and labor requirements, and prevailing market conditions to formulate competitive bids and ensure project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform take-offs and quantity surveying, extracting material quantities, labor hours, and equipment needs from engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive cost estimation and analysis, calculating total project costs including direct costs (materials, labor, plant) and indirect costs (overheads, contingencies, escalation, profit margins).
• Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships by soliciting, reviewing, and negotiating quotations to secure competitive pricing.
• Prepare tenders and bids, including technical and commercial proposals, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), ensuring full compliance with client submission guidelines.
• Identify and assess potential financial, technical, or schedule risks within contract documents, factoring appropriate contingency allowances into cost models.
• Conduct site and market research, including site visits, to evaluate working conditions, access, and site-specific logistics that may influence pricing.
• Provide post-tender support, participating in clarification meetings, value engineering discussions, and assisting project management teams during the handover phase.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this position must possess 5 to 10 years of professional experience in an estimation or cost estimating role, preferably within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors. A strong understanding of project costing principles and bid management is required.
