The Role of Government Relations Officer

The Government Relations Officer is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining effective relationships with local government entities and public sector agencies. The officer will monitor regulatory developments, ensure company compliance with applicable laws, and coordinate the submission and follow-up of licenses, permits, and approvals for real estate projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee visa, residency/Iqama, work permit, renewal, transfer, and cancellation processes.
  • Handle government-related transactions and documentation through relevant Saudi government platforms.
  • Manage and maintain records across platforms such as Qiwa, Muqeem, Mudad, GOSI, Absher Business, and Ministry-related portals, as applicable.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding requirements from a government relations and compliance perspective.
  • Monitor expiry dates for Iqamas, work permits, licenses, registrations, and other statutory documents, ensuring timely renewals.
  • Support the organization in maintaining compliance with Saudi Labor Law and Saudization requirements.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, Operations, and external government authorities on regulatory matters.
  • Assist with company licenses, municipality requirements, Chamber of Commerce documentation, and other government approvals where required.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all government transactions and employee documentation.
  • Keep management updated on regulatory changes that may impact employees or business operations.
  • Resolve government-related documentation issues efficiently and follow up until completion.

Collaboration and Impact

The Government Relations Officer will represent the company in meetings with government officials, prepare documentation and reports for official requests, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on government requirements. This role involves close collaboration with legal, development, and operations teams to facilitate project timelines, resolve regulatory issues, and contribute to the company’s strategic objectives within the Saudi market.
