Head of Brokerage

About the Role

Thndr is seeking a Head of Brokerage to establish and manage its brokerage operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with over 10 years of experience who will be registered with the Capital Market Authority (CMA) as a senior executive for Thndr KSA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead Thndr’s core brokerage function in KSA, covering client onboarding, order execution, and settlement.
• Establish dealing and order-handling processes compliant with CMA conduct-of-business and best-execution requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day brokerage operations and address operational issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the compliance team on trade surveillance, market-conduct controls, and client protection.
• Manage the relationship with the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) and support the relationship with the CMA.
• Gather and implement insights for innovative brokerage solutions in the Saudi market.
• Analyze market practices and regulations and their impact on Thndr.
• Work with Thndr’s leadership to develop and execute the brokerage strategy for KSA.
• Partner with the product team to enhance brokerage services and client experience.
• Manage the brokerage budget and business plan.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in securities brokerage, with at least 5 years in KSA at a CMA-licensed brokerage or Tadawul member firm.
• At least 3 years in a senior or team-leading role within the brokerage value chain.
• Working knowledge of the Saudi brokerage ecosystem, including order submission, clearing, and settlement.

CMA Qualifications and Registration

• Successful completion of the CMA’s securities brokers qualification route: CME-3A and CME-3B, or an exemption granted by the CMA. (Holders of previous-series qualification certificates for this function are exempt from retaking exams. Both must be passed before CMA registration.)
• Eligibility for registration with the CMA as a Registered Person under the Capital Market Institutions Regulations, including meeting the CMA’s fit-and-proper criteria (skills, experience, competence, and integrity).
• Residency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (a requirement for CMA Registered Persons), or willingness to relocate.
