Role Overview

EDECS is seeking a Head of Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships for its operations in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, is critical for leading the origination and development of strategic opportunities within the Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing acquisitions, joint ventures, co-investments, concessions, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), strategic partnerships, and market-entry opportunities that align with EDECS’s growth strategy. The position reports directly to the Group Investments Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, PPPs, concessions, and new business opportunities.
• Identify potential acquisition targets, investors, operators, local partners, and technology providers.
• Prepare preliminary opportunity assessments, including strategic rationale, commercial structure, capital requirements, potential returns, and key risks.
• Support negotiations, due diligence processes, transaction structuring, Investment Committee submissions, and deal closing.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with Saudi family groups, investment companies, government-linked entities, PIF portfolio companies, financial institutions, developers, and operators.
• Represent EDECS in strategic discussions with potential partners, investors, project sponsors, and relevant authorities.
• Establish consortiums and partnerships involving investors, operators, contractors, lenders, and technology providers.
• Convert market intelligence and relationships into qualified opportunities and signed agreements.
• Originate opportunities across construction, infrastructure, logistics, ports, data centers, energy, utilities, and specialized engineering sectors.
• Identify suitable PPP, Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Build-Own-Operate (BOO), concession, and project-development opportunities.
• Coordinate with EDECS’s technical and operational teams to evaluate delivery capabilities, commercial assumptions, and risks.
• Recommend strategic approaches (build, acquire, invest, or partner) for entering new sectors.
• Develop relationships with family offices, infrastructure funds, private equity firms, banks, sovereign investors, and strategic investors.
• Identify suitable equity, debt, project-finance, and co-investment partners for approved initiatives.
• Maintain a live opportunity pipeline detailing value, probability, strategic fit, risks, decision dates, and next actions.
• Prepare regular reports for the Group Investments Director and Chairman.
• Coordinate corporate development activities across investment, finance, legal, technical, and operational teams.
• Ensure all binding commitments are made with appropriate internal approval.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and well-connected corporate development professional with over 10 years of relevant experience. This role requires strong senior-level relationships across the Saudi business and investment ecosystem. Candidates must possess significant commercial and transaction capabilities to effectively convert initial introductions into qualified opportunities, signed agreements, and completed transactions.
