Health & Safety Lead Expert

About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Health & Safety Lead Expert. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves developing frameworks, policies, and operational plans to enhance the organization's Health & Safety function. The successful candidate will analyze complex issues, understand business needs, and translate multiple concepts into tangible actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and benchmark studies to identify best practices and market trends in Health & Safety, upgrading ZATCA’s standards and systems.
• Develop general Health & Safety guidelines based on local and international standards to consolidate firefighting and protection practices across all ZATCA facilities.
• Identify required resources and capabilities, assessing the need for outsourced support in vendor and service provider selection.
• Assess the performance of vendors and external service providers to ensure alignment with required activities and set standards.
• Conduct internal assessments to identify necessary Health & Safety training programs for all ZATCA employees.
• Develop Health & Safety seminars, awareness sessions, and tailored training programs for various employee categories to educate personnel and prevent incidents.
• Monitor training program execution to ensure all material is delivered within the scheduled period.
• Evaluate program efficiency by monitoring employee competencies post-training and implementing corrective improvement actions as needed.
• Conduct field studies across ZATCA facilities to determine, assess, and evaluate incidents, potential risks, and hazards, developing comprehensive risk management and prevention plans.
• Develop safety inspections and drills to simulate risk situations and evaluate facilities' and employees’ capabilities, introducing necessary corrective actions.
• Initiate and manage safety risk management improvement projects to continuously update procedures and align with best practices and latest trends.
• Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent work execution.

Team Leadership and Support

• Assist in resolving escalated problems and provide necessary support to junior team members to ensure efficient work.
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution of cases and issues.
• Train junior staff on various job activities to facilitate knowledge transfer, where applicable.
• Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates and junior staff.
• Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to established policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in Health & Safety.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing frameworks, policies, and operational plans.
• Proven ability to analyze complex issues and translate business needs into actionable strategies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The role involves working collaboratively within a team and providing expert guidance to enhance organizational Health & Safety standards.
