The Role of ICT Engineer

Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co. is seeking an ICT Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on leading ICT engineering activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for structured cabling, fiber backbone, LAN/WAN, switching, Wi-Fi, telephony, and ICT interfaces, with a strong understanding of international ICT standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead ICT engineering activities for MDF/IDF, structured cabling, fiber backbone, network, Wi-Fi, and telephony systems.
• Develop and review MDF and IDF layouts, rack elevations, equipment schedules, port schedules, and ICT risers.
• Review Cat6A outlet layouts, patch-panel arrangements, cable routes, labeling, and termination architecture.
• Review fiber backbone architecture, fiber allocation, core assignment, ODF/patching, splicing, and inter-building connectivity.
• Prepare and review fiber loss budgets and core allocation schedules.
• Coordinate network topology, switch locations, port requirements, PoE requirements, uplink requirements, and logical network interfaces.
• Coordinate ICT network requirements for CCTV, ACS, IDS, FAS, smart systems, SCADA/control-room ICT, and other IP-based systems.
• Review Wi-Fi access-point layouts, coverage, heat-map surveys, and capacity analysis.
• Coordinate indoor and industrial/high-environment Wi-Fi requirements as applicable to projects.
• Review telephony/VoIP infrastructure and associated structured cabling/network requirements.
• Coordinate ICT equipment rooms, rack power, UPS interfaces, cooling/space requirements, and physical access requirements.
• Coordinate with security, BMS/SCADA, AV, and other ELV engineers to ensure correct network interfaces and segregation requirements.
• Review consultant comments and prepare technical responses, RFIs, and revised drawings.
• Support copper certification, fiber OTDR/OLTS testing, link testing, network validation, and Wi-Fi post-installation verification.
• Verify rack dressing, labeling, patching, cable management, and final installation quality.
• Ensure final cable schedules, fiber schedules, port schedules, rack elevations, test reports, and as-built drawings are completed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ICT/network infrastructure.
• Strong experience in AutoCAD, network design, BOQ preparation, shop drawing review, testing/commissioning, site coordination, installation inspection, and project execution.
• Experience with major campus, university, utility, infrastructure, healthcare, airport, government, or other multi-building projects is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working within a specialized team focused on large-scale telecommunications, broadcasting, and security projects.
