About the Role
Al Majed *** is seeking an Internal Procurement Supervisor to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing and managing local procurement activities to ensure that all materials, products, and services are sourced and delivered efficiently. The supervisor will be responsible for maintaining high quality, adhering to specifications, securing the best value, and ensuring compliance with approved procurement policies, procedures, and budgets, while fostering strong supplier relationships and supporting business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage local procurement activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Review purchase requisitions, verifying specifications, quantities, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain a database of qualified local suppliers.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, delivery lead time, payment terms, and overall commercial value.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, favorable commercial terms, and agreed delivery schedules.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure compliance with agreed specifications and terms.
- Monitor deliveries and coordinate with warehouses and relevant departments for timely receipt of goods and services.
- Resolve and follow up on delayed deliveries, shortages, damaged items, or non-conforming materials and services.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers while safeguarding the organization's commercial interests.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations based on approved criteria.
- Ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets and delegated financial authority.
- Review procurement documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission to relevant departments.
- Coordinate with Finance, Warehouse, Operations, and requesting departments to ensure a smooth procurement cycle.
- Monitor open purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring completed transactions are properly closed.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports covering purchasing volumes, cost savings, supplier performance, and other relevant KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Supervise the Internal Procurement team, allocating responsibilities, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support.
- Train and develop procurement staff, ensuring compliance with procedures and best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of procurement information, supplier quotations, pricing, contracts, and other sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, procurement controls, and governance requirements.
- Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the direct manager.
Scope of Authority
- Review and approve operational procurement activities within delegated authority limits.
- Negotiate with suppliers within approved financial limits and commercial guidelines.
- Recommend the selection, qualification, or disqualification of suppliers based on approved evaluation criteria.
- Assign and monitor tasks within the Internal Procurement team.
- Recommend improvements to supplier performance, pricing, procurement processes, and purchasing methods.

- On-time delivery rate.
- Procurement cost savings achieved.
- Average purchase requisition processing cycle time.
- Compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Percentage of purchase orders completed and closed on time.
- Supplier performance and supplier compliance rate.
- Rate of non-conforming deliveries.
- Internal stakeholder satisfaction with procurement services.
- Accuracy and timeliness of procurement reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this position should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement, demonstrating a strong understanding of local sourcing, supplier management, negotiation strategies, and compliance with procurement policies. The role requires proven leadership abilities to supervise and develop a procurement team effectively.
