About the Role
Fitch Ratings is seeking an Investor Development Team (IDT) Director level employee for its Riyadh office. This full-time role involves enhancing investor engagement with Fitch Ratings analysts, research, and commentary, aiming to position Fitch Ratings as a preferred agency in established and new markets. The Director will also represent the investor community within Fitch Ratings, providing feedback on rating performance, criteria, and analytical interactions. This position is part of a global team and offers exposure to senior stakeholders, contributing directly to the company's visibility and brand building.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the EMEA head of investor development and collaborating with the regional business and relationship management (BRM) team, the Director will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing Fitch’s market engagement strategy in the GCC, aligned with overall company strategy.
- Managing relationships with a portfolio of leading GCC investors and sell-side research teams.
- Raising awareness and educating investors about Fitch Ratings’ research, coverage, and credit insights through various channels.
- Directing the allocation of analytical and data resources.
- Organizing events, webinars, and tours to showcase Fitch’s expertise in regional and international ratings.
- Coordinating with Fitch Ratings’ Marketing and Events on broader market engagement, campaigns, and partnerships with external market organizations.
- Facilitating meetings with investors to enhance their understanding of Fitch’s credit views, criteria, and rating actions.
- Showcasing Fitch Ratings’ analysts and research as competitive advantages.
- Developing and aggregating investor support, creating channels for application by global issuer, banker, and PE teams, and identifying deliverables with the BRM team.
- Following up on market developments and Fitch’s credit views through outreach and investor engagement.
- Assisting investors with inquiries on sector, criteria, or individual credit topics.
- Engaging with investors on their analytical needs to embed Fitch ratings, data, and research into their workflows.
- Identifying and addressing barriers to Fitch Ratings adoption in buyside workflows, coordinating execution with relevant stakeholders.
- Acting as the internal voice of investors and coordinating with senior analytical staff on research.
- Providing summaries of investors’ topics of interest and areas of focus to senior analytical staff.
- Promoting Fitch’s expertise with relevant sell-side research teams to enhance visibility in regional capital markets.
The role also includes coverage of a portfolio of key GCC investors, encompassing:
- Overall leadership and coordination for accounts, building relationships with key decision-makers.
- Identifying key individuals of strategic importance to the Fitch Group.
- Becoming proficient in understanding these organizations' rating agency views and requirements.
- Arranging investor interactions for Fitch sector analysts within the portfolio.
- Ensuring Fitch’s ratings are fully accepted and routinely used within investor workflows.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player and aligning with internal stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of fixed income investment strategies and debt capital market dynamics.
- Over 6 years of sell-side or buyside experience in international fixed income capital markets. Comparable experience in a wealth management institution or a reputable information services company will also be considered.
- Strong interpersonal and presentational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
Preferred Attributes
- Existing contacts and relationships with large GCC investors.
- Track record of managing key accounts in the financial services industry.
