About Nihon Kohden Middle East and the Role

Nihon Kohden is a Japanese medical technology company. This full-time position for an IT Technical Specialist is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company's regional office supports distribution partners and hospitals across the Gulf, the Levant, Türkiye, Pakistan, and Africa. This support encompasses patient monitoring, ECG, defibrillation, neurology, ventilation, and in-vitro diagnostics. The systems developed and supported in this role are integral to clinical care environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate partner and hospital end-user needs into technical specifications and integration designs, including selecting technologies, defining data flows and interfaces, and building in scalability and security.
  • Configure and develop interfaces between medical devices, Nihon Kohden IT solutions, and hospital information systems, such as the Neuro application, HiQ, Polaris ECG data management, and Tele-ICU solutions.
  • Define data mappings and transformations to ensure accurate and consistent information transfer between systems, including cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes.
  • Develop and execute integration test plans against performance, security, and reliability standards. Oversee system deployment into live hospital environments without operational interruption, and document architectures, data flows, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Plan and coordinate integration projects from initial assessment through to completion, managing timelines, resources, and delivery.
  • Provide post-go-live technical support, monitor integrated systems for performance and security, and train partners and end-users for confident solution management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least three years of experience in IT systems integration, ideally within healthcare or with medical devices.
  • Network configuration knowledge to CCNA level or equivalent.
  • Experience with SQL databases, Citrix environments, and VMware.
  • Knowledge of HL7 and hospital information system integration.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, demonstrating sound judgment under pressure.
  • Proven project management capability, encompassing planning, organizing, and ensuring project completion.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with clinical devices such as patient monitors, ECG, defibrillators, EEG, and other neurology equipment.
  • Experience deploying solutions into live hospital environments.
  • Exposure to Tele-ICU or remote patient monitoring solutions.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
