Land Surveyor

About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Land Surveyor to join its site-based construction supervision team for the Green Riyadh Project. This full-time position is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing surveying activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead surveyor for all site surveying and setting-out verification activities, reporting to the Resident Engineer/Construction Director.
• Supervise and coordinate Parsons’ survey team and review contractor’s survey work for accuracy and project compliance.
• Verify control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates established by the contractor, ensuring correct relation to the approved project datum and grid system.
• Check and confirm the contractor’s setting-out for alignments, levels, coordinates, and dimensions across various project elements including roads, utilities, structures, hardscape, and landscape features.
• Conduct independent spot checks and surveys to confirm constructed works align with approved drawings and tolerances.
• Review and provide comments on contractor’s survey reports, layout drawings, as-built surveys, and topographic surveys, ensuring consistency.
• Identify and report discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions, supporting the supervision team in resolving setting-out issues.
• Coordinate survey activities with discipline engineers to support interface and clash avoidance.
• Maintain and ensure proper use, calibration, and safekeeping of survey equipment.
• Manage and maintain organized digital and hard-copy records of survey data, field notes, and as-built information.
• Support the verification of earthwork quantities, volumetric calculations, and measurements for commercial and quantity surveying teams.
• Participate in progress and coordination meetings, providing survey-related inputs and recommendations.
• Ensure all survey activities comply with HSE requirements, safe work practices, and Parsons quality procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings and final survey records for handover.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in land surveying.
• Proven experience working in a site-based construction supervision environment, with a focus on verifying contractor setting-out and as-built data.
• Solid understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, leveling, and construction setting-out for civil, structural, and landscape works.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and utility drawings and translate them into precise field layouts.
• Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in the use of modern survey instruments and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, digital levels, and survey data processing tools.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and record-keeping, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Good communication and coordination skills, enabling effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.

Work Environment

This role is a full-time, site-based position within the construction supervision team on the Green Riyadh Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
