About the Role
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is seeking an experienced Legal Researcher to join its team in Riyadh. This role involves conducting work with general direction, focusing on developing solutions to challenges that require analysis and resolving issues escalated from junior levels. The Legal Researcher will undertake complex operational activities, including the collection, consolidation, prioritization, and analysis of requests, while also contributing to the development and delivery of legal advisory services.
Jobholders at this level are expected to support continuous improvement initiatives for systems, processes, and practices, incorporating leading practices and productivity enhancements. They will play a key role in developing methodologies, working guidelines, templates, and processes for legal inquiry research and advisory services across all ZATCA functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices and productivity enhancements.
- Develop methodologies, working guidelines, templates, and processes for legal inquiry research and advisory services related to all ZATCA functions.
- Receive and evaluate requests for legal advice, classifying them according to urgency and relevance.
- Maintain the continuous update of legal advisory database systems, ensuring request logs are current.
- Assist in the development and delivery of relevant legal studies and provide non-tax, zakat, and customs legal opinions on inquiries received from various sectors and divisions.
- Provide legal advice for simple inquiries, clarifying ambiguities and offering solutions and recommendations.
- Develop employee feedback and satisfaction surveys, ensuring compliance with relevant research and global best practices.
- Communicate legal advisory services satisfaction surveys to key stakeholders and ensure accurate completion within specified dates.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Assist in solving escalated problems and provide necessary support to junior team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Escalate complex problems to the appropriate personnel to ensure proper closure of cases and issues.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Train junior staff on various job activities to facilitate knowledge transfer, where applicable.
- Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibilities, and monitor the workflow of subordinates and junior staff.
- Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to set policies and processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, or equivalent, is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
